A lot has happened recently, my application for transfer for Florida State was finally accepted! I'm so excited about this but also nervous. I will be leaving my comfort zone and going to someplace where I'll know practically no one. I'm sure I'll do fine but the thought looms over me that I'll be away from my family and not as close as I'd like.
What will I be doing at FSU you ask? Well I am going for my BFA in Graphic Design. Though due to getting such a late acceptance it doesn't look like I'll be going in the Spring Term as I planned. But I see this as an opportunity for me to finish up any loose ends I have here and clear up a big chunk of my debt. And it gives me time to find a place to live at. I know that Tallahassee is a college town and will need to find something that is close to campus but not over populated with college kids (I know that doesn't make sense).
Hopefully this will also give the inspiration to finish my personal website before leaving. I also want to publish a small book of my various work and photography that I've taken in the past years.
But for today I give this whiteboard doodle for the holidays. I'm sure my nephew will love it when he stops by and visits.

Hey you know you look a lot like....
A little quick bit I posted on my facebook and reddit account. The guy in the middle is my friend Josh and every time I look at him he reminds me of either actor, Tyler Labine or writer, Robert Kirkman famous for creating "The Walking Dead". A part of me hopes this becomes some large internet sensation and takes the world by storm. But for now I just had fun and hope Josh enjoys the little quip I made.

Behold my latest creations!
So Halloween is coming up and I decided to get into the spirit and do some pumpkin carvings. I've never done them by myself before until this year so I was excited and scared at first. I started with a Styrofoam pumpkin and made Jack the Pumpkin King from "Nightmare Before Christmas". The actual pumpkin that I carved into, I decided to do the Gears of War Skull/ Cog insignia. I'm really proud how they turned out and also enjoy the photos I took of this tonight. I think the reflection of the table is really good and adds additional effects. I still plan to do make another pumpkin and actually started working on the sketch. The Pumpkin King carving took me about 1 1/2 hours, the Gears pumpkin took me about 3 hours.

Messing around with Photoshop
This is just something quick I did in about half an hour. Just messing around with different image filters and brush strokes, This was a photo of a dead tree I took photos of at the beach in Lover's Key State Park in Bonita Beach, FL during Easter of this year. I have different photos that I have yet to adjust but will post them up later on.

Working Header
So you might've noticed I'm tinkering around with my header and have it showcase more of what I do. It's still a process and not really liking the size, I might have to drop it down a smidge or two. I've been working on my sketches a little bit more and have been filling up my sketchbook. There is one thing I will probably post but I think I might try to mess with colors on it before I put it on. Since I've never used Photoshop to color any of my sketches and drawings I figured I would give it a shot. Also I think I might do my best to save up money to buy a wacom tablet. I know if I use more of illustator and work on logos then I can utilize the tablet amognst other things. Also I have some ideas I wanna create and submit to sites like Ript and Teefury and see if they like. Who knows I might get a shirt publish and bring in a little extra dough. But since I have no money I gotta start saving my pennies, hmm maybe I'll sell some of my action figures and statues on ebay to get some dough. If I do I will post up my auction postings to see who is interested in buying my junk.

Quick Character Concept
This is a sketch concept I did the other day. For some reason I was thinking of the characters from Brink and I remember watching the American Ninja finals. They had some contestants who did free-running and parkour and I thought, hmm they could be street ninjas. So I figured I would draw some type of concept of what a modern street ninja would look like. I am planning more designs with different looks and styles. I need to pickup a magazine and see what most people wear when doing parkour and/ or free-running. I still want to implement the face being covered to hide their identities. And also figure out how I can blend the traditional ninja attire into it. And should I still have some type of ninja weaponry?

'Brain-eating amoeba' kills third person
'Brain-eating amoeba' kills third person
So the news have been posting about this Brain Eating Amoeba and has killed about three kids. The sad news about this is that this isn't new to me. I remember when I was younger of a case like this and a kid I new died from this situation. I grew up in a trailer park, hard to believe I know and in the summer times the pond in the middle of the community would get filled up with water from the rain. So naturally on the hot summer days the kids would jump in and splash around and such. Over time and actually when my family moved out the pond was getting to get filled up with garbage and such by the residents. And a kid decided to swim in the pond during one of those hot summer days. And that rare amoeba crawled up his nose and he did shortly after. At least that is what I remember about it. When I was a kid I didn't think much of this or any kinds of rare germs that could kill a person. Hell I was the type of guy that drank water from the hose, but now as I get older I see the dangers in the simplest things. And for some reason I thought it was one of those things that was almost fictional, but after seeing the recent news it made me realize it wasn't. It still is weird but I'm sure this won't be the last time of hear of something like this happening.
