So this weekend I'm back home to visit family. My nephew's birthday is this weekend and has apparently tasked me with creating a playlist for him. A couple weeks back he heard some dubstep and techno on my computer and wants that music in his party. His whole theme is "Glow" so there will be blacklights, neon and glowsticks. For an eight year old turning nine this is quite a party he is having. I mean, I don't think I've ever had a rave before. Kid is having a rave for his friends, minus the Ecks (hopefully). Well I got quite a bit of party preparation for me tomorrow and have to squeeze in some study time tonight and tomorrow as well.
On a plus side I did actually go the beach since I haven't gone in awhile. It was nice and well Tally has no beaches. Now granted I was one of the few people at the beach under the age of 35 but the wind was nice, the sun was warm and I had a cold can of...ahem...Soda with me. So for you all lovely followers I will leave you with a picture of my view this afternoon.
Oh also one of my pieces is currently at the entrance of Strozier, go check it out if you are on Campus!

Shout Out to an artist I like
Hopefully by now my facebooks has begun to dwindle down with people's Valentine's Day posts. I swear if I have to see another "OMG, look what my babe got me for Valentines #killme#hugsandkisses#ifIwasdiabeticI'ddiefromallthissugarycrap." I think I will sucker punch a dolphin! Anyways, enough rants.
So this post I've decided to plug in/ shout-out a current artist who I also like. His name is Keron Grant, I've known his work from comics and also follow his blog on http://testsession.blogspot.com/. Most of recent posts have actually been different mediums using acrylic, watercolor, ink and so on. I've been incredibly fascinated by his current work in ink, and watercolor.. The style he uses is something that I can't really explain but I highly suggest you check it out. Much like artist Tim Sale who uses ink wash to add tones and dephth to his work, Keron has a similar use of wash when it comes to his work.
I've made some attempts at inkwash and so far my results are satisfactory to my liking. It doesn't mean I've given up, just have to try different methods to get the results I'm looking for. Plus, I'm not that great of a painter so I figure this could a push for me to help improve. I have some watercolors that I wanna try out and see how I do.
Here is also a link of one of his "Sketches" but to me it seems like a complete piece.

Beyonce Smash
So this weekend I've decided to go home and visit my family. So far it's been good and fun, my niece and nephew are are riot sometimes and it was good to have a beer with my sister. We are pretty tight and I pick on her just as much as she picks on me. But now back to being on topic.
I've decided to have my attempt at beating the dead horse that is Beyonce's Superbowl Picture which shows her in a rather funny moment. And of course her publicist is demanding that this photo be taken off the internet but now it has cause a massive flurry of new memes and edits from people all over the place. I've seen some pretty creative ones referencing Dragon Ball Z, Futurama and even Olympic Weightlifting. But after seeing her photo I couldn't help but think what she would look like as She Hulk mid rage. So I did a very poorly photoshop of her and decided to post it. Maybe I'll post it elsewhere but I'm not sure yet. I don't think I will expect and type of legal reprocussion so, eh.

Woo Go Ravens!
Ok so it has been some time that I've actually posted on my blog. Quite a long time actually. But that happens when you are in school and you are so focused on grades, essays, projects and also trying to get involved with different things and attempt to enjoy a bit of the college life. I have made some interesting art recently but haven't made any posts about them. One of my favorite pieces so far have been a series I titled "Imagination: A series of Daydreams".
It's basically photos I've taken of everyday areas around campus but added what my imagination is thinking when I see these areas. I was encouraged to make bigger pieces which I really want to do in the future, but I also need some money to do that. I would like to make at least an 11x17" piece for one of these, mainly the dragon since it's my favorite one so far.
